Livia and her friend Helena both work in the Hall of Records, sharing a flat to afford the rent in central Rome. When Livia finds evidence of a conspiracy to keep the true nature of this technological golden age hidden from the masses, they must both make choices: choices about their lives together and apart, and about the future of Rome itself.
